Meet the Team Monday - Gethin Collins, Director

It’s Meet the Team Monday and this month the Spotlight is on Gethin Collins, part of Gowerton Golf Range’s dynamic duo Director Team.

When did you first get into golf?

I started playing when I was about 12 years old with friends from school at Ashley Road, then I joined Fairwood Park Golf Club soon after that.

What do you love about Gowerton Golf Range?

I just Love it! Working there delivering lessons, running a business from there and chatting to our amazing customers. 

What’s your favourite golf course - apart from Gowerton Golf Range obvs?

Wentworth West is my favourite golf course and I've played all over the UK, Europe and America - Wentworth was just insanely good! Second favourite would be Royal Porthcawl, and 3rd Black Bear GC Florida.

What would be your dream fourball?

From my youth Tiger, Els, Norman - current day Tiger, Bryson, Rory.

What is your best golfing moment (either watching or playing?)

Wow I've had the best times of my life playing and watching golf over the past 35 years, but I'll never forget my first ever eagle as a kid. Holed a 5 iron on the 3rd at Fairwood!

What’s your favourite sport, besides golf?

Football.

When you’re not at the Range, where would we find you?

Probably at a golf course or walking on one of Gower’s beautiful beaches with the wife. Or Fridays between 5-7pm - in the Sketty Club!

What’s your favourite tipple (whether alcoholic or not)?

A nice pint of Heineken.

Tell us a fun fact about you?

I am the world’s worst at anything DIY. I either completely mess it up or break stuff!
